Dribbble, the online portfolio service, along with Mac Papers, the regional paper distributor, are sponsoring a free event at the Little Gem Saloon timed with the annual design conference for AIGA, the largest professional organization for graphic designers, which is attracting attendees from across the U.S. to New Orleans. (The event name is a tip to visitors who may need help with pronunciation.) These visitors and locals alike will gather at the Little Gem Saloon to enjoy a presentation from a foremost authority on culture and typography, Nikki Villagomez, as well as drinks and socializing.

Joy Theater, 1200 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70112
Adobe, the gold standard in graphics software, will host a live competition featuring speakers and judges from around the country. This large, free event is a part of the annual design conference for AIGA, the largest professional organization for graphic designers. Competing designers will use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other Adobe products to create original visual and motion work along a theme revealed earlier that evening.

As its final celebration for the annual design conference of AIGA, the largest professional organization for graphic designers, host chapter AIGA New Orleans is teaming up with letterpress studio and print preservationist New Orleans Digital Newspaper Archive (New Orleans DNA), famously home to a 30,000-tube strong collection of Times-Picayunes from 1885 to 1930, to throw the Makers’ Ball.
