Our February Community Meeting was a tremendous success. Alberta Wright was our guest speaker talking about Young Creative Agency. Lots of completely new faces showed up, many of whom (the whole people, not just the faces) are interested in getting much more involved with the chapter. These included a couple of AIGA student group leaders, an amazing letterer, a designer who has worked on local magazines, an interior designer turned graphic designer, and the founder of a digital marketing agency. Many of the attendees expressed interest in volunteering in order to learn more about Young Creative Agency and with AIGA New Orleans.
At this point, we have a pretty dang hefty list of volunteers for to pick from for committee-building and work with the chapter, which is pretty dang exciting!
Check out the minutes here if you missed the meeting!
Our next community meeting theme, as voted by this month’s attendees, will be “UGH!” (show your embarrassing early work to be entered for a door prize). Bring your embarrassing work or show up to see others! It’s going to be a good time.
Do you have any speaker/presenter suggestions for future community meetings? It should be a topic of interest to our attendees, not just asking something from them. Get in touch!
