AIGA + AAF-BR have partnered to offer select students a unique opportunity to participate in both ADVANCE and the AAF-BR Student Conference

The AAF–Baton Rouge will be holding the 2014 AAF-BR Student Conference the same day as ADVANCE. Freshmen and sophomore design majors are encouraged participate in ADVANCE while also attending select workshops and seminars from marketing industry leaders that will be featured at the AAF-BR Student Conference. Whether you are a volunteer at ADVANCE (volunteers are always appreciated!) or an attendee getting an early start on the portfolio critique process, you’re welcome to enjoy both events! This is a great opportunity for younger classmen from both the graphic design and marketing programs to learn how these fields align professionally. We are happy to partner with the AAF-BR to allow a select number of students free entry into their one-day student conference. The official press details are below!

The 2014 AAF-BR Student Conference

The 2014 AAF-BR Student Conference: “Standing on the Shoulders of GIANTS” is an annual conference put on by the American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge for mass communication students in the Baton Rouge area. Our goal is to give students first-hand insight into the industry from today’s local advertising leaders. Following a kickoff open house studio tour and networking event hosted by XDESIGN on Friday, the main conference will be broken up in to three speaker seminars; Corporate Ethics/Responsibility, The Perfect Interview and Case Study Spotlight. Each seminar will be accompanied by a brief group interactive session allowing participants to actively engage on the subject matter. A list of speakers and topics will be announced Friday, March 7th. This year, AIGA New Orleans is proud to announce our partnership with AAF-BR! As paid participants of ADVANCE Creative Review Day, a select number of students will also be able to participate in AAF-BR’s Student Conference: “Standing on the Shoulders of GIANTS”  and attend the conference’s workshops on topics such as dressing for success, corporate ethics, and a case study spotlight by BRZOOM. For more information, visit www.aafbr.org/events. To register for the AAF-BR Student Conference, please email Samantha Barnes as spots are limited. Have questions?
