SECAC Website Design Competition
The Southeastern College Art Conference is looking for someone to design their new website!  For details please email patterson53@marshall.edu.  Deadline for submission is November 15, 2008.

2008 Collegiate Award
This is the 2nd Annual AIGA New Orleans student groups collegiate award. AIGA New Orleans will make one $500 award to the student who demonstrates outstanding work in 2008. Entrees must be postmarked by December 12, 2008. The collegiate award Recipient will be announced at the AIGA New Orleans Birthday Bash in January 2009.

2009 Student Groups Competition
The theme of the 2009 Student Groups competition is Disaster Preparedness - students are challenged to employ the power of design and support social good by helping people prevent, prepare for and/or respond to disaster.

Topics may include: basic emergency supply kit information, safety guidelines, home preparations, decision-making, public shelter information, severe weather terminology, or any other disaster preparedness related information.

Winning entries will be announced at the AIGA New Orleans Birthday Bash at the Contemporary Art Center New Orleans (900 Camp St) in January 2009. Honors will be awarded for First Place in each category.  Winning entries will be featured at AIGA New Orleans Design Week (April 2009), and will become part of a traveling exhibition to raise awareness about disaster preparedness.

Entrees must be postmarked by December 12, 2008.

Center for Sustainable Design AIGA (click here)

The AIGA Center for Sustainable Design is dedicated to providing designers with a wide range of information regarding sustainable
business practice. Through case studies, interviews, resources and discourse, this site will encourage and support designers as they incorporate sustainable thinking into their professional lives.
